Kusuri-Uri Finished! |
2009-06-07 |
![]() Finally! First print for AX done: that's why there are the ugly watermarks. I'll replace them with the non-watermarked versions after the convention. :) I actually really love how this looks with the background. Beautiful Japanese patterns (which i distorted with textures and crazy gradients) are from here. Rules grant permission to use. |

Fanart of kusuriuri(Medicine Seller) from the show Mononoke. Not to be confused with Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke, the Kusuriuri is an exorcist in a roughyl edo-era Japan, constantly bedecked in bright colors and settings that are some combination between Art Nouveau and woodblock prints. A Horro/Mystery, one of my favorites, although calling ti peculiar doesn't really cover it. Kusuriuri is actually a male but the androgyny in this is intentional- loyal to the show, where it's almost impossible to tell, ever. Seriously: really. And thats his sword of exorcism~ I intend to add a background to this soon, so for the moment this is unfinished. But I will finish it, because I like how it's truned out so far. I spent so much time on it too- the original is so big it doens't fit on my scanner. ;^; I wonder if I can find soemone with a large-format scanner... |
Orihime, the Overnight Comic |
2009-03-21 |
There was a contest at my local anime club to create a manga no more than four pages long. I learned about it the day before the deadline and spent a couple hours making this. So much fun! I've never written a manga before, and it was difficult- layout, chracters, plot-- but fun. The story is based on the Japanese fable of Tanabata. Orihime, princess of the universe (seriously xD) is married off to a guy who she ends up falling in love with. But her father doesn't approve, for any number of reasons. Read about it on Wiki: Tanabata.I want to continue this if I find time. :)
